Namgoong Min’s Bulk Up for The Veil Generating Buzz as the MBC Drama Gears Up for September 17th Premiere

If MBC is banking on Namgoong Min to save the network then it’s as good a bet as any, especially the newly Hulked up version. Viewers have been buzzing over Namgoong Min’s look for the upcoming action revenge drama The Veil (Black Sun) solely on his visuals – he gained what looks like 20 pounds of muscle for the role after undertaking a strict workout routine. He recently shared that after reviewing the script with the PD, he thought the character should be very muscular and imposing, the kind of special forces ops guy who opponents would not want to mess with just by looking at his physique. That makes the betrayal and fall to despair even more improbable. I don’t disagree but my eyes still do double takes when I see his stills in the drama because honestly I spent the first decade of his career when he was playing villains and second male leads looking at him being one of those slim refined male actors. Good for his dedication in going method acting for this role.
