The weekends are going to be smooth sailing for the next few weeks thanks to the successful arrival of two new romance dramas as the second week of airing appears to cement the domestic viewers interest in the stories. jTBC romance Forecasting Love and Weather was the lower of the two premiere ratings last week but has been increasing about 1% with each episode, going from 4.514% to 5.455% to this Saturday’s episode 3 with 6.787%. Over on tvN the throwback Twenty Five Twenty One saw premiere ratings of 6.370% jumping to 8.010% and had a tiny increase in episode 3 to 8.182%. Both dramas continue to get good feedback from the K-netizens and what surprises me is that Forecasting Love appears to be getting more buzz even. It’s such a turnaround for that drama considering how bland and wan the promos looked and everyone was pooh pooh-ing (myself included) the noona-dongsaeng coupling of Park Min Young and Song Kang. I haven’t started Twenty Five yet but did watch all three episodes of Forecasting Love and I can see why it’s an easy watch. The weather stuff is fresh and different, and Park Min Young’s great as the capable bureau director and one roots for her immensely seeing what a douchebag her ex-fiancee turned out to be and how sweet and adoring her new young admirer/beau is towards her. It’s nothing groundbreaking but the set up helps engage the viewer for sure.
