SBS releases first trailer for “Through The Darkness” + announces premiere date!

“Through the Darkness” starring Kim Nam Gil will officially air on SBS this January!

On December 17th, SBS released the first official trailer of the upcoming drama “Through The Darkness.” It featured main leads Kim Nam Gil, Jin Seon Kyu, and Kim So Jin and the situation they are facing because of serial murderers. It was also stated in the trailer that the drama will officially premiere on January 14th 2022. It will be part of the Friday-Saturday drama time slot. 

“Through The Darkness” will be based on the nonfiction book of Korea’s first criminal profiler Kwon Il Yong and journalist-turned-author Ko Na Mu. The drama will tell the story of criminal profilers who are having a hard time analyzing the minds and moves of serial murderers. It will be directed by Park Bo Ram and written by Seol. 

Kim Nam Gil will portray the character named Kwon Il Yong. He’s the profiler from Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s criminal behavior analysis team. Jin Seon Kyu will play the role of Kook Young Soo, the team leader of the Criminal Behavior Analysis team. Kim So Jin will also play a criminal profiler named Song Ha Young. 

Other cast members of the drama are Ryeoun, Gong Sung Ha, Lee Dae Yeon, Jung Soon Won, Kim Won Hae, and Go Geon Han. 

“Through The Darkness” will premiere on January 14. This drama will replace the “Now, We Are Breaking Up” time slot. It will have a total of  12 episodes and will exclusively air on SBS.

“Through The Darkness” will be the reunion work of Kim Nam Gil and Jin Seon Kyu. This year, the two worked together and made a special appearance in the SBS drama “One the Woman” to support their friend, Lee Ha Nee. 

The two also starred together in the 2017 drama “Live Up to Your Name” with Kim Ah Joong, Yoo Min Kyu, Moon Ga Young, Yoon Joo Sang, Uhm Hyo Sub, and more.
