Hey Chingus! I am back with yet another Ultra Fan Guide. This time featuring a new and rising actor who has made his presence known through his amazing acting skills and charms. I came to know about him after I saw him in the drama Sisyphus The Myth. To say the truth I started watching the drama because of the one and only Park Shin Hye but instantly fell in love with him instead. Then I looked him up and I watched every drama he was in and started swooning over him, falling for his charms over and over again.

Chae Jong Hyeop, born in Seoul, South Korea, is a South Korean actor who appears in Korean dramas. After graduating high school, he attended Seoul Arts College and gained a degree in Fashion Model Art. He started his career as a fashion model when he was in South Africa.

Sisyphus: The Myth was the drama that introduced me to this amazing star. His appearance in the first episode of the drama took away my heart. He was stunning! My only complaint is he didn’t get much screen time in the drama. Now that he is having his screen time as the main lead in his new project, I am all over the place. I literally re-watch all of his scenes. His handsome looks plus his acting skills make me swoon all over him.

Debut

Jong Hyeop made his debut in the year 2016 through MBC Every1’s, in the second season of the drama Webtoon Hero- Tundra Show Season 2. Then, he played mainly as a major lead in web dramas like Between Friends, No Bad Days and Rumor.

Rising Popularity & Breakthrough

He rose into prominence after his breakthrough role in the SBS sports-themed drama Hot Stove League. His role as Yoo Min Ho, a baseball pitcher, was well received by the audience and they praised him for his portrayal of the role. Afterwards, he played Sun/Choi Jae Sun in the JTbc drama Sisyphus: The Myth alongside Park Shin Hye and Jo Seung Woo. His role as Sun was again very well received by the audience. After that, he played the role of Yang Do Hyeok in the JTbc drama Nevertheless, as the second lead. His most recent role is Lee Gil Yong in the Tving drama The Witch’s Diner alongside Song Ji Hyo and Nam Ji Hyun.

Drama: Sisyphus The Myth

A drama about time travelling, based on Korea after its destruction by an attack from the Northern counterpart. He plays the role of Choi Jae Sun or more casually called Sun, who was once a K-Pop trainee, but due to the company going bankrupt, he gave up the dream and started working as a delivery guy at a Chinese restaurant. He gets entangled with the character of Park Shin Hye and later on, falls in love with her. He constantly flirts with her but with no results. He will give you the ultimate second lead syndrome. In the end he sacrifices himself for her.

Drama: Nevertheless,

He plays the role of Yang Do Hyeok, a childhood friend of Yoo Na Bi, the female lead. Do Hyeok is an innocent and sweet character compared to the character played by Song Kang. She was his first love, and he still loves her. He runs a popular cooking show on YouTube that apparently loves potatoes which does not sound important but it will bring tension to the drama nevertheless.

Drama: The Witch’s Diner

He plays the role of Lee Gil Young, a student by day and a part-timer at the restaurant owned by Go Hee Ra, the character played by Song Ji Hyo, at night.

Future Projects

He is all set to appear in his next project in the KBS2’s sports-themed drama Going to You at a Speed of 493km as Park Tae Joon, a badminton player, alongside Park Joo Hyun.

He started his career as a fashion model, debuting in 2014. Since then, he has taken part in many different fashion shows.
He reportedly lived in South Africa for 4 years and Thailand for 1 year before moving back to Korea.
He can speak fluent English.
He started his acting career with web dramas before transitioning to television dramas.
He has been featured in many fashion magazines, like Harper’s Bazaar.
