Kang Gi Doong to make a special appearance as Park Jin Joo’s ex-boyfriend in “Our Beloved Summer”

Kang Gi Doong and Park Jin Joo will be reuniting in “Our Beloved Summer.”

On January 18th, media outlets reported that Kang Gi Doong will be making a special appearance in the ongoing SBS drama “Our Beloved Summer.” He will be playing the role of Lee Sol Yi’s (Park Jin Joo’s character) ex-boyfriend. He will be seen in episode 14. Kang Gi Doong’s agency Hunus Entertainment confirmed the reports that the actor will make a cameo. 

“Our Beloved Summer” is directed by Kim Yoon Jin and written by  Lee Na Eun. The drama is produced by Studio N and Super Moon Pictures. It tells the story of ex-high school lovers who had to film a documentary and meet once again after several years because their past video went viral. 

The cast of the drama includes Choi Woo Shik, Kim Da Mi, Kim Sung Chul, Roh Jeong Eui, Ahn Dong Goo, and
Park Jin Joo.  

Kang Gi Doong will play as Jin Seop, Lee Sol Yi’s ex-boyfriend who was already mentioned in the drama. His character was an ex-boyfriend who got caught cheating. Kang Gi Doong and Park Jin Joo have worked before for the 2020 drama “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay.” Ever since then, the two have been close friends. They even appeared on Park Jin Joo’s personal Youtube channel.

“Our Beloved Summer” will air its 14th episode on January 18th, 9:00 PM KST. The drama is also available on the global OTT platform, Netflix. 

For this year, Kang Gi Doong will be joining the upcoming JTBC drama “The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate” with Song Joong Ki, Lee Sung Min, Shin Hyun Bin, Jo Han Chul, Kim Nam Hee, and more. 

The actor last starred in the tvN drama “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay.” He was also part of the 2021 movie “A Wild Apricot” with Son Ho Jun. Kang Gi Doong also made a special appearance in the TVING drama “The Witch’s Diner.”
