Upcoming TVING series “Monstrous” unveiled its first teaser poster.
On February 28gth TVING officially released the first poster of their upcoming original series “Monstrous.” Through the poster, it was confirmed that “Monstrous” will premiere in April.
In the first teaser poster, the “gwibul” (a Buddhist statue bewitched by an evil spirit) is the main focus. The phrase on the photo also states “I shouldn’t have found it,” seemingly stated by the silhouette man standing in front of the statue.
“Monstrous” will revolve around the story of an archaeologist named Jung Ki Hoon who’s searching for strange supernatural phenomena. After an unexpected incident, his life changed and he became the publisher of the occult magazine Monthly Strange Story and the owner of the YouTube channel Monthly Strange Story. He went to Jinyang County to know more about gwibul.
The upcoming series will be directed by Yeon Sang Ho (“Train to Busan” and “Peninsula”) and written by Ryu Yong Jae (“Pied Piper”). It will be produced by Studio Dragon.
“Monstrous” will be led by Koo Kyo Hwan, Shin Hyun Bin, Kim Ji Young, Park Ho San, Kwak Dong Yeon, Nam Da Reum, and more. Koo Kyo Hwan will play the role of Jung Ki Hoon.
The upcoming series will premiere in April 2022 and it will exclusively be available on the OTT platform, TVING. “Monstrous” will have a total of 6 episodes with 40 minutes duration each.
Koo Kyo Hwan will play the character named Jung Ki Hoon. He is an archaeologist who studies mysterious supernatural phenomena. He also became the author and owner of a magazine and Youtube channel that showcases strange stories.
Shin Hyun Bin will play the role of Lee Soo Jin, the ex-wife of Jung Ki Hoon. She was a former archaeologist who’s skilled at being a decoder. After her only child left the world, she decided to go to Jinyang County. She will also experience mysterious phenomena.
The people who are from Jinyang County such as the police substation chief Han Seok Hee played by Kim Ji Young, her son Han Do Kyung played by Nam Da Reum, governor Kwon Jong Soo played by Park Ho San, and troublemaker Kwak Yong Joo played by Kwak Dong Yeon will also experience the mysterious phenomena.
